IMS, March 2012

Its a great experience full of excitement for us in IMS, March 2012 . At the beginning of our 3rd semester classes Imran bhai, Siva and me presented our group work. There were lectures from the representatives of  Cenotec, Mehler which were very inspiring. Then Harry taught us how to weld fabric. That's a great experience for me. We have also installed a tensile fabric in IMS campus. Then we visited Novum factory, it was a huge experience for me as we saw how fabrics are fabricated specially ETFE foils. In total I can say that my experience during this semester in Dessau was full of excitements.

MM04 Structural Design and Detail: Assignment

The railway station for Ethiopia is consist of series of eye loops supported by steel columns and cables. The eyeloops will reflect light and collect water in rainy season. The project was developed in previous semester in MM01 Architecture. In this semester Imran. Siva and me worked as a group, I led architectural part, Imran bhai and Sivaji did detailing part. Here we made some changes such as concrete columns has been replaced by steel columns for flexibility and at both end additional columns has been added to reduce deflection in fabric. Eyeloops will covered by translucent fabric.
